Sometimes, I struggle to breathe in here. I miss the outside so much it hurts. The tightness in my chest, the feeling of panic, of the walls of this ship closing in, and only the blackness of space sitting in the window like a shroud ready to suffocate me. I have to steady myself, steady my breathing, gain control by reciting one of my mantras: this is for them. For my children, it wasn’t an option to stay on Earth. I’m here for them. They deserve a chance at peace, even if it comes in this metal tomb, hurtling through nothingness. This is for them. 

On days like today, bitterness wells up as I wonder if we should have chosen a different path. Should we have tried to continue terraforming Mars in the Solar System? Tried harder to restore the Earth to a place of beauty and clean, breathable, non-recycled, not concentrated stinking of too many various human bodily odors normal-smelling air?!? I know these weren’t viable options, I know that in my head, and my heart, but I just have to put my thoughts down somewhere today, even if I hope no one ever reads them. I want my children and, hopefully, grandchildren, to believe that we all made this sacrifice willingly and happily for them, for all of the future generations. But today, I struggle to breathe and I just want to go outside. 

One of the only things that keeps me going is the knowledge that one day an entire generation of humanity will be born in the fresh air, in peace, breathing freely, not trapped inside. This is for them.

You haven’t heard from Sophie in what feels like years, although perhaps it has only been a few months. Time seems to have sped up since you were teenagers together. Terraforming isn’t something you hear about everyday, and you wonder what exactly Sophie is working on. She’s become one of the top Scientists of the belt and whatever it is, you’re sure it isn’t just a passing interest. Sophie’s the type to go all-in on an idea and either make something amazing or exhaust all possibilities before discarding it and moving on to the next one. She seems to be down the rabbit hole with this one already, if she’s digging up anonymous old journal entries from the beginning of the Arvad’s voyage.

A few weeks later you run into an old friend of your family’s in a dining hall. Cornelius is eager to catch up with you, and he invites you to join his group, as they are having an informal meeting about a new idea. You’re impressed by the company as you spot several Prime Council members, a few former Department Heads from the Arvad, one of the better known Academy professors, and a handful of prominent Merchants. After a few minutes of scientific debate, their discussion quickly turns to politics.

“The question is not ‘if’ but rather ‘how’,” says Vikram Stephenson. “With the advancements we’re making in science and engineering, I’m certain that we can find a solution to terraforming a planet, or maybe one of the moons, but how do we get the political will to do it?”

“It won’t be easy. This isn’t something that we can accomplish in a year, or a decade, this will be work for several generations.”

“I agree, this is going to require a massive amount of cooperation, I’m talking at a scale we’ve never seen.”

After several murmurs of agreement and head nodding, the group grows quiet for a moment, contemplating the sheer amount of work it would take to terraform.

“They made that commitment before, you know,” an older woman speaks softly, but her voice confidently commands the attention of everyone in the group. “When they decided to climb aboard the Arvad, they knew they weren’t going to see paradise in their lifetimes. They were still willing to make the necessary sacrifices, and we’re here today because they did.”

“So, we’ll do it again. I’m a realist about the scale of this project, and I think that’s going to be the key in messaging. No lies, no half-truths or false promises, just the reality of the long-term goal and the hard work and sacrifice needed to get there.” 

You’re somewhat in disbelief that this group of powerful people is seriously contemplating what you had once been taught was a fever-dream of a concept that could never be realized.

During the next few months you see notices for meetings and read several newsletters from the New Adalian Terraforming Society (or NATS), as Cornelius’ group has named themselves. You also hear the jokes (NATS? More like “nuts”), the conspiracy theories (they just want to ship us off to the planets to decrease the population!), and the alternative ideas (maybe it would be better to change our own bodies and make humans adapt to the planets, not the other way around). Still, the idea of terraforming seems to be getting a foothold among Adalians, and you keep thinking back to that anonymous journal entry that Sophie sent to you. Some days you almost feel jealousy for the long-deceased voyager from Earth, at least they had a grand purpose, a dream that they could hold fast to and help to make a reality.

As you are standing outside on a barren field, a press conference pops up on your MUSE and you see Sophie standing in the background, among some of the more prominent NATS. The Prime Council is announcing a new Terraforming Department and setting its initial mandate to explore and evaluate the planets for feasibility.

After years of development, we are proud to finally bring Influence, a fully onchain open-economy space strategy MMO, to production. As the game itself launches, the game’s new currency, SWAY, will also become available to trade. We intend for SWAY to be a semi-stable in-game currency token, utilized primarily for trading in-game products and assets within Influence itself. You can read more about SWAY’s tokenomics here. 

An Economic Gateway to Influence

Importantly, SWAY is also an ERC20 token on Starknet, the L2 chain which hosts Influence, as well as L1 Ethereum. This means that it may be transferred and traded outside of the game for external assets, for example on a variety of decentralized exchanges (DEXes) on Starknet and Ethereum. As SWAY is traded for these external assets, volume on these DEXes will be created. There are several expected sources of volume for SWAY. 

First and foremost, new players onboarding to Influence generally need to purchase a starting amount of SWAY so that they can then obtain starting goods in the game. Starting SWAY is sourced directly from Starknet DEXes.

Another source of volume comes from more established players who wish to accelerate their progress in the game by bringing additional external money into the game and using it in trade with other players for useful in-game assets. To be used for in-game trade, this external money needs to first be converted into SWAY, and this also occurs on DEXes. 

A third source of volume is from players exiting their SWAY from the game. Players inevitably quit any game from time to time, and a key feature of Influence is that all assets used in the game are fully owned by the player and may be freely traded, allowing those assets to be liquidated for external money and without breaking any rules should the player choose. Additionally, without quitting the game, some players may choose to play Influence and earn SWAY from their fellow players, and then extract some of that value out of the game. In both cases, that exiting SWAY will need to be traded for other assets on DEXes. 

Liquidity As a Foundation for Decentralized Exchanges

When users trade assets on DEXes, they have some amount of one token that they wish to swap into another token. But where does that other token come from in the trade? On the most popular type of DEX, the AMM (Automated Market Maker), it comes from a pool of tokens held by the DEX smart contracts, which have been sourced from market participants called liquidity providers or LPs. These LPs select a base/quote pair, and put tokens of one or both types into that pool. Then when users make trades, their starting tokens are placed into the pool, they receive the desired tokens from the pool, and the trade is successful. Without LPs, most DEXes cannot function. They literally make the market. In language that may be familiar to users of order book exchanges, if the user swapping their token is a market buyer or market seller, the LP is the corresponding limit seller or limit buyer, except the DEX automatically decides on the actual sale prices, rather than either of the participants.

DEXes usually collect a fee when they are used to execute a swap. This fee may come out of either the tokens the user was trading in, or the tokens they wished to receive, but in either case, it accrues to the LPs whose liquidity was used to execute the trade. By placing their capital into a pool, it is possible for LPs to earn income from these fees. 

Providing Liquidity for Beginners

To become a liquidity provider, the first step is to select the token pair you wish to LP, and obtain some of one or both of those tokens. For example, if you wish to LP the ETH/SWAY pair, you will need either ETH, SWAY, or both. 

With tokens in hand, you’ll next need to select your price range. This decision requires you to do your own research and to balance several factors, which are personal and individual to you. You  will select a range that you expect the token pair to remain within for a reasonably long amount of time. This is a price range that the base token (the asset being valued) will trade in, in terms of the quote token (the asset the price of the base token is given in). You will accrue fees for every trade that occurs while the price is within this range; if it leaves the range, you will not accrue fees. However, another factor to consider is that the broader your range, the fewer fees you will earn for any given trade (please research the concept of “capital efficiency" for more information about this factor). Additionally, you should be aware that while you can pull out your liquidity and pick a new range, this action typically has a fee associated with it.

Finally, pick which DEX you wish to LP on, read the documentation carefully, select the fee you wish to collect (if applicable), and add your liquidity! Make sure you know how to retrieve your liquidity and any earned fees before you put it into the pool. The following is a short list of available DEXes. None of these exchanges are endorsed by UGI and, please, do your own research when selecting a DEX.

Potential Risks When Providing Liquidity

While LPing can be a profitable endeavor, it also comes with its share of risks of which to be aware. The following is an incomplete, non-exhaustive, list of potential risks:

• Scams. Make sure you are visiting the correct version of any webpage that you are planning to connect your wallet to and sign transactions or messages from. Don’t trust any third party resource, including this one, to provide you with correct links; always double check.

• Smart contract risk. Decentralized exchanges are built from smart contracts, and smart contracts can have bugs that could lead to a loss of your funds. Use well-established, reputable DEXes to minimize this risk. 

• Gas fees. This is DeFi and every transaction comes with gas fees that will eat into your profit. This can be a significant concern if you are LPing on L1 Ethereum. 

• Taxes. Be aware of your local tax laws and how your DEX of choice functions. Some tax situations may make some DEXes preferable over others. Make sure to save enough out of your profits to pay your taxes. 

• Opportunity cost. LPing involves taking your capital and locking it in a pool, in exchange for possible fees that would represent a yield on that investment. Do you know of other opportunities where that same capital would earn more for similar or less risk? If so, you may be better off pursuing those other opportunities instead.

• Impermanent loss / price divergence. When you provide liquidity, you are offering to be the counterparty for traders who may be more informed than you. When the market moves, you wind up with the tokens users who are swapping don’t want. This means that if the market ever moves out of the price range you set for your liquidity, you will have 100% of the less desirable token, i.e. the one that lost value against the other. The value of your liquidity in the pool in that situation will be less than the value of those token(s) when you first put them into the pool. In other words, fees aside, you would have been better off just holding those tokens and not putting them in the pool at all. This is called impermanent loss because if the market ever reverses course back to your starting point, you will make those losses back… at least until the market goes out of range in the other direction. 

In Summation

We believe open economy games like Influence have tremendous potential, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our own vision for this type of game out into the world! As we have always stated, our goal first and foremost, is to build a game, and our intention is for SWAY to be a semi-stable in-game currency token, utilized primarily for trading in-game products and assets within Influence itself. With a novel project like this, there are many opportunities, including providing liquidity for players. Please, always do your own research when considering economic opportunities!  

The Seeding

In 2396 CE, the generation ship Arvad, carrying over ten thousand refugees from the old homeworld of Earth, arrived at its final and unplanned destination in the Adalia system. Its residents were well-prepared for a colonization effort, with plentiful supplies – but supplies intended for use at the Arvad’s original destination, a habitable Earth-analog exoplanet. Everything was meant to operate in almost one gee of gravity on a rocky or watery planetary surface, with readily available resources that could be collected in the open air under gentle skies of room-temperature, breathable atmosphere.

Instead, upon arriving in Adalia, those aboard the Arvad found that all of the major planets here were uninhabitable and that colonizing the system’s extensive asteroid belt was their only hope. Thus began a period of hardscrabble survival and reconstitution, later called The Seeding, under the strict and highly collectivized governance of the Prime Council. During those difficult decades, the Arvad was shipbroken, and the parts recycled to create new,  smaller ships. Intrepid explorers traveled the Belt to gather materials not found on Adalia Prime. The Arvad’s sad cargo of tractors and wind turbines was converted and repurposed to build the first three colonies on Adalia Prime, and the first native Adalians were born there. Many simulations were conducted, modeling these brave new conditions and practicing for the next phase of humanity’s expansion into Adalia. By the end of those long years, with a large stockpile of parts and supplies readied, a new currency prepared to support the reintroduction of a market economy, and a thriving population on Adalia Prime restless and eager to broaden its horizons through private colonization of other asteroids, the Prime Council finally determined to open the Belt for Exploitation.

Prime Council Marketplaces

The  parts and supplies stockpiled by the Prime Council are known as seeded products. They are intended to assist in bootstrapping the Adalian economy; in keeping with the new free market introduced at Exploitation, those products have been put up for sale in two dozen Marketplace buildings on Adalia Prime (AP,) owned by the Prime Council. Colonists wishing to use those products will need to purchase them from those Marketplaces using SWAY, the currency of Adalia. SWAY paid for seeded products will go to the Prime Council to fund its operations and promote continued colonization.

The Prime Council Marketplaces are present in all three of the AP colonies, and will allow for almost all of the hundreds of available products in Adalia to be freely traded, even if they are not among the seeded products. Colonists are welcome to use those Marketplaces to buy and sell their products – or to build their own Marketplaces instead. The Prime Council will not charge fees to use its Marketplaces until it is confident that a robust set of alternatives exists.

Not all products are tradeable at every colony. The following is a list of which Marketplaces are available at which colonies:

What’s for Sale

The seeded products can be divided into two categories: amount-limited and time-limited.

Amount-limited products consist of seeded non-C-type raw materials. These are products that can be directly mined from S-, M-, or I-type asteroids or combinations thereof. AP itself is a C-type asteroid, and so none of the raw materials that can be mined there have been seeded; colonists will need to obtain those by mining them or buying them from others.

The amount-limited products have each been put up for sale across a range of prices, which increase like the rungs on a ladder from the lowest seeded price up to almost 100x that price. Each of the 20 rungs on the ladder is a factor of 10^0.1, or about 26%, greater than the previous. The total amount seeded of each of the amount-limited products is proportional to its estimated demand, and will remain on the Marketplaces until sold. These products will become more expensive as the lower rungs sell out, increasingly incentivizing their import from other asteroids. It is expected that some colonists may hoard or resell the amount-limited products; the Prime Council discourages but cannot prevent this behavior, and would caution that this could be very risky, both for the individual trader and for the colony as a whole. In the event that an amount-limited product sells out completely without being used productively in the economy, the Prime Council does hold some goods in reserve that may be used to re-seed that product.

Time-limited products, on the other hand, consist of seeded consumable supplies, as well as the needed materials and components to build ships and buildings. Amount-limited products are at the bottom of the production chains, while time-limited products are at the top, highly processed.

There are enough of the time-limited products for everyone, without any need for competition. They have been seeded in very high amounts and additional stock will be made available if a given Marketplace does happen to run out. They are each for sale at a single fixed price, in contrast to the amount-limited products with their increasing scale of prices. The Prime Council wants all colonists to have a fair chance at obtaining these products, so they can construct buildings and ships for the good of Adalia.

As the name suggests, once the Prime Council has observed native production on AP of most or all of the time-limited products, it will remove any remaining seeded products in this category from sale on its Marketplaces, allowing the markets to evolve organically. As with amount-limited products, it is expected that some colonists may choose to hoard time-limited products, and again, the Prime Council warns against this risky behavior.

Ship hulls are a special case; they have not been seeded even though they are components needed to build ships. Instead, the hull components needed to build ship hulls have been seeded; colonists wishing to build a ship will need to first construct the hull before integrating the final ship, at least until other colonists begin offering ship hulls for sale on their Marketplaces.

Time is Money

To give some insight into how the Prime Council arrived at prices for the seeded products before the new free market economy was even open for business, an old Earth adage was followed: “time is money.” A unit of each product was assumed to require some representative amount of time to create, and that amount of time was assumed to be directly proportional to a fair price in SWAY per unit for that product. A single constant of proportionality was assumed to apply across all products; that value was compared to the old Earth concept of “minimum wage,” although many processes in Adalia are mostly automated, so that was only an approximate analog.

The remaining challenge, then, was to determine time-costs for each product. 

As a starting point, while the raw materials were being mined for the Amount-Limited products using the very first Extractors, the miners kept careful records of how much ore was extracted and how long it took. Deposits of different sizes were faster or slower to extract, but the miners observed that all raw materials seemed to require the same time per tonne, averaged over all deposits. Raw materials available on Adalia Prime were simply assigned that time cost, but materials mined elsewhere had an additional, significant time-cost added in addition to their simple time-cost to mine, reflecting the substantial observed time-costs of transport back to AP.

As the first experimental Refineries were being constructed and the first trial processes run, time-costs for more refined products were computed, being the sum of all the needed input materials plus the amount of time the process took to run, per unit of the refined output product. And as the first Bioreactors, Factories, and Shipyards were put into operation, similar computations were performed for their output crops, manufactured goods, and assemblies. By the time constructing native ships and colony buildings had become largely a solved problem, a table of time-costs for all products was available to the Prime Council’s researchers. And once a “minimum wage” ensuring that most colonists could afford a beginning livelihood was decided upon, around 3.5 SWAY per Adalian hour, a table of SWAY prices was  computed, available here [link to full seeding CSV]

The Prime Council’s researchers repeatedly cautioned that these prices would almost certainly prove to be wrong, in some cases significantly so, once the free market economy was launched. Old Earth had entire fields of study dedicated to economic research and modeling, and while the Arvad libraries contained those records, the researchers were painfully aware of their own lack of expertise on the subject. The Prime Council acknowledged these caveats, but nevertheless decided that these best-guess prices would serve as a suitable starting point for the incipient Adalian economy at the dawn of Exploitation. In the words of one Council member, “a soybean will never be planted in exactly the right spot, but the farmer plants it as best she can.” And so concluded The Seeding.

TL;DR

The Prime Council Marketplace buildings on Adalia Prime contain several products that have been seeded, or put up for sale, by the Prime Council to help get the Adalian economy started. They can be bought with SWAY. 

Some of the seeded products, the raw materials that can’t be mined on Adalia Prime, are “amount-limited”, with a large but limited supply, and will increase in price as they are bought up, but will be available forever, at least until they sell out. 

Other of the seeded products, the materials and modules needed to create buildings and ships, as well as some consumable supplies, are “time-limited”, meaning they will be removed entirely after a while, but are available in effectively infinite amounts as long as they are around, and at a single price, so they won’t get more expensive as they are bought. 

The Prime Council Marketplaces in the biggest and most expensive colony city, Arkos, have all the seeded products, while those in the smaller colonies of Ya’axche and Saline have only some of them.

As a new colonist it’s risky out there in the belt and you’ll be learning everything on the fly. Thankfully, the Prime Council left some SWAY to encourage and motivate new colonists.

These happen naturally as you play, and like the title suggests, randomly. When they do, players will be greeted with a short story, some questions, and at the end: a reward. Rewards can be SWAY, a new trait for your crew, or both. There are over 100 random events to be discovered.

Create an account

Navigate to the game and, if new, click “Login with email” and follow the account creation flow, through our account provider partner Argent. If you already have an existing account, you can use that.

Purchase a Starter Pack

Once logged in you will see the “STORE” option, if not already clicked, navigate to the button and click it. Within the store new players should use the “Starter Pack” option and select between the “Basic” and “Advanced” starter packs. Both will give you everything you need to get started, with the Advanced pack giving you extra SWAY to further allow you to help start your initial colony. You can purchase more crewmates and SWAY at anytime.

Getting started with a crew

The first step for every intrepid explorer is to choose your crewmates who will allow you to specialize and progress within the newly established Adalian colony. Your crew can consist of one to five crewmates.

When you begin the recruitment process for each of your crewmates, you will be able to select any of the avaliable classes: Miner, Merchant, Engineer, Scientist, and Pilot. 

You can compose your crew of any combination of these classes, and from there your adventure begins. One thing to keep in mind: the more of one class you have, the more efficient you will be at undertaking their target actions, but at the cost of being slower and less efficient at others.

Tips on choosing your first crewmate(s) and setting up your crew(s):

1. Most new players will want to start as an Engineer and/or Miner led crew

2. If you want to control more than one crew, you can split crews apart

3. When you begin recruiting the first crewmate you will be asked to select a Habitat where they will be housed, simply choose the auto select option if you’re new.

4. Traits picked cannot be changed once locked in, except through random events. If you love to min max, join the discord and ask our community what might be best for you or see the wiki.

Leasing your first lot

Once you have bought your starter pack and recruited your initial crewmate(s) you will want to find a lot to settle on Adalia Prime (the largest asteroid in the Adalia system). You can choose any lot which is not occupied by another player. Lots are indicated on screen by the small white hexagons with a dot at the center. Each lot enables you to build one building.

Finding the right location for your first lot is a strategic choice. Each lot has an associated "cost” in SWAY, the in-game currency, at a monthly rate. On Adalia Prime most lots are extremely affordable. If you click on a lot that looks expensive, it’s likely within the zone closest to the initial city and, due to high demand, the price is set higher. See the short video below if you need help choosing a lot.

To lease a lot, simply click the lot, then click the lot agreement button on the bottom left, then enter the amount of time you want to lease it for and click confirm.

Plan a building site

Once you have leased your lot, click the build site plan button on the bottom left of the screen, indicated by the three squares. For your first building, you will want to choose a “Warehouse” so that you can store future materials that you buy, mine, refine, and manufacture.

Click the Warehouse in the menu, then confirm. This will take a moment to process, then you can start delivering materials to the lot to construct the building. See the video below for a walk through.

Construct your first building

Once the building site plan is down you can transfer materials to the site to construct the building. This will require you to search for materials on the market and find the best prices and/or closest available products. The further a product is, the longer it will take to arrive to the lot, so weigh cost and distance to your preference.

For the Pre-Release phase, a total of 1 billion SWAY is allocated for distribution among the community. This pool of SWAY is split between three categories: Solo Missions, Community Missions, and Community Support/Engagement. The allocation for missions will be split 50/50 between Solo Missions and Community Missions.

Solo Missions 🧑‍🚀

Solo missions are designed to be completed individually, allowing you to claim rewards based on your personal achievements. The rewards are structured based upon the number of solo missions completed out of a total of nine possible missions. The more missions you complete, the greater your reward. This ensures that dedicated and active players are recognized and rewarded for their commitment and effort.

Reward Tiers: 

• Mission Tier 1: Complete at least 4 of the 9 missions

• Mission Tier 2: Complete at least 6 of the 9 missions

• Mission Tier 3: Complete all 9 missions

Community Missions 🧑‍🚀🧑‍🚀

Get ready to team up and play with your fellow Adalians -these missions call for all hands on deck! The threshold for each Community mission will need many players working together to meet it, or else no rewards for that mission will be earned.  Each Community mission has a minimum threshold to achieve a reward, as well as a cap to ensure dilution of rewards is reduced. Each individual player must meet the requirements stated below in order to participate in the mission, and be eligible for the SWAY reward. 

Rules 📜

Each mission is intended to be a solo endeavor - one user, one account. However, within a single account, you can manage multiple “Crews.” Each crew is considered separate for the purpose of rewards. This means if you manage three crews and complete missions with all of them, you're eligible to claim rewards for each crew collectively. To maintain fairness and integrity, we will implement sybil and bot protection measures. Before any rewards are distributed, we will work to ensure that all participants are legitimate players.

Each mission will have its own dedicated post to facilitate focused discussions, see requirements, and to check completion status.

Hello everyone! For those who participated in Testnet Phases 2 and 3, the deadline to designate a mainnet Starknet account from your testnet (Goerli) account has been extended to January 31st.

Cartridge Update

For Cartridge users, the team is actively working to restore their wallet service. This is particularly important for those who participated in testnet phases 2 and 3 using Cartridge, as it will enable them to correctly designate their accounts. We don't have a specific date for when the service will be available again, but we will make announcements on both our Discord and Twitter as soon as it's back online. Keep an eye on these platforms for updates.

Deprecated Accounts

For those whose accounts were deprecated due to not upgrading their wallets earlier in 2023, we recognize the inconvenience this has caused. This situation arose when wallet providers upgraded from the deprecated, alpha version of Starknet. Despite the providers giving notice and making repeated public announcements, we understand that many users were still impacted. We understand that this situation is frustrating.

Although we are unable to reverse the deprecation of these accounts, it's important to note that you are still involved with Influence at an early stage. With our upcoming Pre-Release and Launch, there are significant opportunities to earn SWAY through participation, and we hope you will remain part of our community as Influence grows.

We appreciate your presence and understanding as we navigate the complexities of a very early layer 2 experience. We're excited for you to experience the fully playable Pre-Release soon and thank you for your continued support!

For all participants in Influence’s incentivized tests (Test-To-Earn Phase 2 and 3) you need to designate your Starknet Mainnet address from your Goerli address before January 15th!

Designating your Account

To designate your Mainnet address from Goerli for ArgentX and Braavos users (see below for Cartridge):

1. Visit the Influence Asset Portal at https://assets.influenceth.io/

2. Click “Designate”

3. Open your Starknet wallet on Mainnet, and copy your Starknet Mainnet address (if you don’t already have one you will need to create one through ArgentX or Braavos)

4. Switch networks to Goerli in your wallet, and click on "Connect to Goerli Wallet"

5. Once connected paste your Starknet Mainnet account address into the box

6. Confirm the transaction in the wallet pop-up

For Cartridge users: the Cartridge team is working to bring their wallet back online, but until then it’s not possible to designate using Cartridge. We will announce in Discord and on Twitter if / when this becomes available. We suggest joining Cartridge’s Discord for support.

Origins

In 2246, a pioneering group of several thousand set off from Earth, on a generational ship, bound for a system 14 light-years away with an identified, habitable planet waiting for them. A dying Earth, and the only slightly more palatable prospect of a difficult life on an overcrowded Mars, had left their journey as one of the only remaining options.

On the way out of the Solar System, while passing through the extreme outer reaches of the Oort Cloud, and in a stroke of terrible luck, their ship passed within 100,000 kilometers of a previously unidentified dark and icy exoplanet. The significant gravitational perturbation pushed them well off-course, and with limited excess fuel to re-adjust, eliminated their prospects of reaching their initial destination.

Leadership convened an emergency meeting, and they decided to target a new system within their reduced range. It had five planets, and although there was no certainty any of them were habitable, it was their only chance to avoid effectively drifting until their reactors gave out.

Arrival

Nearly 150 years later, the pioneers’ grandchildren completed their long deceleration burn and arrived in their system of refuge, Adalia. However, initial jubilation rapidly tempered. Each probe returned from surveying the planets, named Aion, Bia, Chronos, Dysis, and Eos, reporting hostile, uninhabitable environments.

They turned towards the asteroid belt between Bia and Chronos as a last resort. After a quick scan, there appeared to be roughly a quarter-million asteroids over 1km in diameter. The pioneers placed themselves in orbit around a giant asteroid, TG-29980, and decided to allow the pioneers to purchase mineral rights to the individual asteroids.

Additionally, to encourage rapid development and exploitation, all scan probes on-board were made available to the new prospectors.

Exploitation

With a better understanding of the resource abundance across the belt, the prospectors moved out to begin extraction. They established mines and extracted metals, volatiles, and organic materials from the ground, and burgeoning supply chains started.

Before long, certain asteroids were developing into specialized manufacturing centers. Factories receiving regular shipments from across the system covered the entire surface of some asteroids.

Market hubs also sprung up along major trade routes facilitating a stabilization in the economy and making more than one fortune.

Discovery

Earth was 150 years behind them, but technological progress had halted during the journey with no impetus for advancement within their self-contained vessel.

With the pioneers’ future now increasingly secure, they looked towards a higher quality of life as settlements began maturing. Increased automation allowed for more and more time to be set aside to pursue higher learning, and with it, the potential for scientific and technological breakthroughs.

New ship designs, novel propulsion methods taking advantage of the asteroid’s near zero-G environments, and more efficient processing and manufacturing methods became their primary focus. They would establish Adalia as a home and not just a refuge.

Conflict

With economic prosperity and a population expanding to reach every corner of Adalia, it was inevitable that conflict would arise.

Stratification between Alliances, asteroid-owning elites, and the masses surviving on Adalia Prime created tensions from the very bedrock of society to the top of the socioeconomic ladder. Pirates began striking out against trade ships from bases on asteroids many had forgotten about or stopped considering, forcing Alliances and wealthier merchant groups to build ships of war to support their ships of commerce. Traversing the system meant risking more than just mechanical failure; a pilot might also attract the attention of malicious actors.

The Adalia system, once dark and unpopulated, full of infinite possibility, was shrinking. Danger lurked in the darkness of space, and not everyone would survive.

The time has come to embark on an exciting journey with Influence's Limited Release on Starknet's Mainnet! This is a significant milestone in our commitment to providing you with a top-tier user experience, lightning-fast transactions per second (TPS), and incredibly low-cost actions.
